Achievements after achievements. That is what 2018 had so amazingly presented us with.

No undertakings have been easy, but with the teamwork of the entire Instant Reader™ family and the fuel that continues to light up the advocacy we stand for, we have crossed many borders and reached thousands of more people.

For 2019, our goal is to strive further with our calling—this time, with greater sensitivity to the needs of this technology-driven age. Our focus is to SURGE farther and stronger: Strengthening Undertakings in Reading as Game-changers in this E-Generation (SURGE).

But before we enter a new chapter and start on new goals, why don’t we first celebrate the successes we met in 2018?

Nine New Local Centers + One New Center in Indonesia

We have furthered our reach and set-up new Instant Reader™ centers at different areas in Luzon and Mindanao. Even more, we now have a branch in Indonesia!

New Luzon Branches: IR BelAir - Sta Rosa, IR Las Piñas City, IR Bonifacio Global City, IR Malabon City, IR Laoag City, IR (IREPP) Makati

New Mindanao Branches: IR Cagayan de Oro City, IR Davao City, IR Zamboanga City

New Overseas Branch: IR Batam, Indonesia

The teams leading each new branch have gone through rigorous training prior to operation to ensure quality services.

First IREPP-Focused Branch in Makati

The Instant Reader™ English Proficiency Program (IREPP) has been offered in IR-Los Baños Main branch and IR centers overseas for several years now. But in 2018, we were able to open a center in Makati solely focused on helping adults improve their English proficiency.

The branch currently caters to Vietnamese around the area and assigns English Coaches to enrollees to effectively guide and monitor their progress.

First National Dyslexia Summit

The very first Dyslexia Awareness and Intervention Summit in the Philippines happened last June 9, 2018. More than a hundred teachers, school administrators, counselors, parents, and students participated and fueled the discussions on dyslexia, teacher training, and advocacies to support children and adults with reading difficulties.

A Series of Dyslexia Awareness Seminars across PH

Through the We CARE Program: “Your Child is Not Bobo” Dyslexia Awareness Seminar, more partnerships were made this year between Instant Reader™ and several schools, universities, LGUs, and even private companies.

Here are some locations that we reached and the venues that hosted and partnered with us in our cause: Sta. Cruz (with LAPRISADA); Alabang (Sycamore), UP Diliman (with UP Radio Circle); Davao City (Lorings Restaurant); Biñan (Sorosoro ES with Eyelectric Inc. and Rotary of Biñan); Taguig City (Ricardo P. Cruz Sr. ES); Sta. Rosa (Vista Mall and Solenad); and Zamboanga City (KCC Mall).

In essence, all these achievements boil down to one big success: helping more people read. And this same success is what Instant Reader™ will strengthen and extend further this 2019.
